FootballSPL Director Hints at Potential Move for Bayern Munich Veteran
- The Saudi Pro League is keen to continue its quest of poaching Europe’s elite football stars
- The Middle Eastern nation recently completed the signing of Karim Benzema and many more
- A director of the Saudi league has hinted at a move for Bayern Munich’s longest-serving star
With the backing of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), it appears no elite footballer is out of the reach of the Saudi Pro League.
The league’s ambitious intentions became evident when they secured the signature of former Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
What followed the veteran's transfer was a flurry of high-profile signings that many would have considered unimaginable.
Earlier in the summer, Saudi League’s Chief Operating Officer, Carlo Nohra declared in an interview that the league's objective was to 'challenge the status quo' in the world of football, as quoted by Menafn.
Over time, this goal is rapidly transforming into reality, with over 40 elite players - including the emerging Spanish star Gabri Viega - having joining the country's top flight ranks.
Furthermore, Nohra has hinted at the Saudi Pro League's continued interest in acquiring an experienced and long-standing Bayern Munich forward.
Saudi Pro League seeks Muller's services
The potential acquisition of Bayern's Thomas Muller by the Saudi Pro League has been the subject of discussion and Nohra responded to queries about this pursuit.
As reported by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the league's COO commented:
"Thomas Müller? Why not? That would be my answer to you. There’s absolutely no reason why anyone is off the market; anyone that can add value and quality to the league would be welcome."
The possibility of a transfer move for Muller has gained momentum as doubts begin to swirl around his contract extension with Bayern Munich.

FootballHowever, a report from Bavarian Football Works has suggested he previously turned down an offer from the Saudi Pro League during the summer transfer window.
Whether the league can secure Muller’s services on their second attempt remains to be seen.
Muller’s hilarious training routine
Sports Brief previously reported on Muller doing a bizarre training routine ahead of the Champions League clash against Manchester United.
In a video posted online, he was seen jumping with his hands spread out and seemed to be alone on the training pitch ahead of the game.
Muller has faced the Red Devils four times: winning two, drawing one, and losing one. He has only scored once against the EPL giants.
