  • The Finnish goalkeeper made his choice known during a question and segment with a young fan
  • Messi and Ronaldo are both believed to be the two greatest footballers in the history of the game

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky has picked Super Eagles star and club teammate Victor Boniface ahead of multiple Ballon d'Or winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and Ronaldo are regarded as the greatest players in football due to their dominance in the game for close to two decades.

Both players are known for setting new records and breaking existing ones and are still competing with modern-day footballers despite being older.

There has always been a debate about who is the better player between the two players, with fans, pundits, and their fellow footballers having their preferences.

Finland shot-stopper, Hradecky was put in the spotlight by a young Leverkusen fan to choose between the Argentine veteran or the former Real Madrid star during a question and answer segment.

The 33-year-old ignored the multiple Ballon d'Or winners and jokingly said Victor Boniface.

Leverkusen young fan asked:

"Ronaldo or Messi?"

Hradecky answered:

"[Victor] Boniface!"

The Finnish goalkeeper must have chosen Boniface jokingly, but it doesn't negate the fact that the Nigerian striker has been one of the revelations in Europe this season since joining Bayer Leverkusen.

The Super Eagles striker joined the Bundesliga outfit from Belgian side Union SG on a five-year deal, according to ACL Sports.

The Nigerian international has since scored nine goals and provided three assists in his first ten games for Xabi Alonso's side.

The 22-year-old is currently with the Nigeria national team setup ahead of their friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique. He assisted one of the goals in Nigeria's 6-0 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principe in the last 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game.

Boniface discloses his ‘love’ for EPL side

Sports Brief earlier reported that Victor Boniface has declared his love for one English Premier League side after disclosing the first football kit he owned during an exclusive interview.

In an interview with UEFA TV as per Soccernet, the Bayer Leverkusen striker disclosed the first football kit he owned.
