Former Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel has disclosed his favourite between former Liverpool teammates Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
The former Chelsea star was joined by reigning African player of the year Mane, for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw in Abidjan last Thursday.
Meanwhile, Salah joined his Egypt teammates for the international friendly against Zambia on Thursday. A game they won 1-0, with Hamdy Fathy netting the winner.
Mane left Liverpool in the summer of 2022 to join Bayern Munich before moving on to sign for Al Nassr after just a season in Germany.
Salah has gone on to break and set new records at Anfield, becoming the African player with the most goals and assist in the English Premier League.
In a video shared on social media during the AFCON draw, Mikel Obi was involved in a quick 'this or that' question and answer session, where he stated Salah was his favourite among the duo.
"Of course, you need to go with the Egyptian king, Mo Salah," he said.
Both players helped Liverpool to claim their first Premier League title in 30 years after winning the 2019/20 title, as reported by the BBC.
Mikel Obi confident of AFCON success
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi expressed excitement following the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw in Ivory Coast on Thursday.
The 2013 AFCON winner arrived in Abidjan last Wednesday as one of the special guests for the event held at Parc Des Expositions.

Sadio Mane displayed his true African heritage as he arrived at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw in his Senegal-made Kaftan.
The 31-year-old is one of the players selected to assist the draw currently being held in Abidjan at the Parc Des Expositions.
Mane led Senegal to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title in 2022 after scoring the winning penalty against Egypt in the final last year.
