  • Alex Iwobi has been showered with praise after fans were treated to a video of his rap skills
  • Casual comparisons have been made to prominent stars in the Nigerian and British rap scene
  • Iwobi has received a new lease on life at Fulham having moved back to London from Liverpool

Alex Iwobi is indirectly showing us that he might have a new career when he hangs up his boots.

The Fulham midfielder was flexing his vocal and rhythmic talent on a social media post shared from Lagos to Leytonstone.

Since his hidden talent has been discovered by football fans, teammates have joined the banter, suggesting possible collaborations.

The response to Iwobi spitting fire has been overwhelmingly positive, save for a few cheeky jabs.

Less light-hearted comments have come from disgruntled Everton supporters, questioning if Iwobi was fully focused last season.

Another Everton fan, hopeless toffee@martylongford, Tweeted: 'more raps than goal contributions'.

Regardless, Iwobi received praise from Super Eagles teammate Kelechi Iheanacho who stated he was ready to get into the studio, responding to Alex Iwobi's Instagram post with the comment 'Got my vas ready bro'.

The former Arsenal man takes his footballing responsibility seriously, however, as quoted in an interview with Forbes:

“Professionally, you have to be a bit more serious. You have to try and win at all costs. Playing with my friends is where I feel most free.”

Iwobi's time at Everton is over and greener pastures have met him at Craven Cottage. Since joining on deadline day, Iwobi has made five appearances, including one in the Carabao Cup in which he scored, as listed on TransferMarkt.

Iwobi's primary focus currently is on the Super Eagles who have two friendlies away from home this international window, one against Saudi Arabia followed by another against Mozambique.

Nigeria will find out their 2023 African Cup of Nations opponents on Thursday evening when the draw is conducted in Abidjan.

Nigerian footballers are soulful

Sports Brief earlier reported on the musical exploits of Nigerian legend, Jay Jay Okocha.

Fans were left gushing after spotting an old music video of the Super Eagles legend titled 'I Am J J', which was released in 1994.

The same year as that musical masterclass, Okocha went on to help the Super Eagles win the African Cup of Nations.
