Olivier Giroud has ditched the gloves and is back playing as a target man in France's national team training ahead of the October international games against the Netherlands and Scotland.
The AC Milan striker reported for national team duty at the training base in Claire Fontaine a day after pulling on the gloves and making match-winning saves for his Italian club.
Giroud is expected to lead Didier Deschamps' team in the attack for both games, with Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann expected to pair with him up front.
He is a crucial member of Les Bleus squad and per Goal, he is the country's all-time top scorer with 54 goals, having surpassed the legendary Thierry Henry during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Mbappe, Giroud combine for superb goal
The former Chelsea striker is regarded as one of the best target men in football and has been praised by wingers who have played with him as he allows them into the game.
As seen in a clip shared on social media, the 37-year-old set up Mbappe for a header into a mini goalpost.
Giroud received a pass from the PSG star and sent club teammate, Theo Hernandez flying with his control before returning it to Mbappe, who headed it home.
The action received loud cheers from his training mates, applauding the striker's creative instinct.
That was not the only moment of genius by the former Arsenal striker. As shared by the French Team on social media, he received a pass from inside the 18-yard box and chipped over goalkeeper, Alphonse Areola with his weaker right foot.
The French team will be counting on more of these moments from Giroud during their stay national games against Scotland and the Netherlands.
