- However, Martin Keown contends his former side still have a long way to go in their bid to lift the crown

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has claimed the Gunners are not title favourites despite their impressive run of form so far this season.
The Gunners remain unbeaten in eight Premier League games played so far and sit joint-top of the standings with 20 points alongside rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Mikel Arteta proved their title credentials last Sunday when they silenced reigning champions Manchester City 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
The Mirror reports that Gabriel Martinelli's solitary goal deep in the second half of the tie was the only difference.
The Brazilian came off the bench to steer his side to victory in what was Arsenal's first EPL win over City since 2015.
Arsenal not title favourites
Despite Arsenal's epi win over Pep Guardiola's charges, Keown still contends the Gunners are not favourites to win the Premier League title this season.
Asked by Sam Matterface if Arsenal have closed the gap on City, Keown, a former Arsenal star, claimed the north Londoners still have a long way to go.
“Yes, but there’s a long way to go," Keown outrightly said via talkSPORT.
“No, Man City are favourites," he continued when asked if Arsenal are favourites.
“Two seasons in a row they’ve managed to win as many as 32 games and last season they won 44 matches," he added.

FootballSpeaking in the wake of the Gunners' victory over City, the former defender brilliantly broke down why Arteta's men are the side to beat in the title race.
