Luis Suarez is regarded as one of the greatest strikers of his generation. After leaving Europe, he continues to make a mark for the Brazilian side Gremio.
In their derby against Internacional in the Brazil top-flight league, the Uruguayan scored a spectacular free-kick, but unfortunately, it couldn't prevent his team from suffering defeat.
Gremio travelled to Porto Alegre to face arch-rivals Internacional. Suarez's team were looking to cement their third spot in the table.
However, they went 2-0 down after 49 minutes, leaving them with a lot to do and although they got one back, the hosts restored their two-goal advantage in the 70th minute.
Gremio got a chance to get another goal back, and Suarez stepped up to take a free-kick from 30 yards out. That goal was his 15th from a direct free-kick, per Transfermarkt.
He unleashed a spectacular free-kick to take the score to 3-2 in the 74th minute, but it was too late as Gremio lost the game.
Although that was the story of the night, Suarez stole the headlines for the wrong reasons. He was seen producing a theatrical dive, reinforcing his reputation as a diver.
How Suarez got opponent booked in Brazil
The former Liverpool and Barcelona star had put his side ahead in the 29th minute. On the stroke of half-time, he was bundled over near the halfway line, with his boot coming off slightly, as Sports Brief earlier reported.
Eager to get a decision from the referee, he took off the boot completely as he demonstrated to the officials that he had been fouled.

FootballCruzeiro's defender, Marlon Xavier, threw the boot off the pitch following which Suarez asked the referee to book the defender, and he did, giving Suarez his wish.
Suarez once considered retirement
