  • Cancelo recently lashed out at Barca fans and called them 'annoying'

Joao Cancelo continues to prove that his transfer from Manchester City to Barcelona was one of the standout acquisitions made by the Catalan club during the summer.

The 29-year-old Portuguese defender consistently impresses the club’s fans, and his exceptional performances recently earned him the La Liga 'Goal of the Month' award.

Cancelo’s remarkable displays have endeared him to the supporters, leading to regular requests from them to sign autographs and take photos whenever he arrives or departs from the club’s training facility, Ciudad Deportiva.

Cancelo frustrated with Barcelona fans

However, in a recent incident following Barcelona’s draw against Granada, Cancelo - while leaving the team’s training ground - was halted by enthusiastic fans seeking autographs, as reported by ESPN.

Before reluctantly agreeing to sign, the defender could be heard saying words which were translated as follows:

"You're so annoying, my goodness. You are here every day. Do I have to stop my car every day?"

Despite his initial annoyance, Cancelo eventually agreed to pose for photos with each fan.

In contrast, his teammate, Jules Kounde displayed a different attitude towards fan interactions. As reported by Barcelona Blaugrana, the Frenchman spent over 15 minutes signing autographs and taking pictures with fans ahead of the La Liga clash against Real Betis.

Amid the mixed reactions the players have had to requests from their fans, one thing that appears evident is the unwavering love Barcelona fans have for their club, despite the team's struggles on the European stage and its unrelenting financial challenges.

Barcelona’s Xavi gets trolled by fans

Sports Brief also reported on fans trolling Barcelona coach Xavi after he celebrated a goal with enthusiasm before it was eventually ruled out for offside.

Joao Felix believed he had secured a late victory in the 92nd minute when he connected with a cross from his national teammate, Joao Cancelo.

Xavi's celebration of the disallowed goal triggered a flurry of reactions, with many comparing the manager's joy to that of a Champions League winner.
