Jude Bellingham has expressed his admiration for one of Real Madrid's legendary figures, Zinedine Zidane and admitted his desire to have shared the field with him.

The English midfielder has a deep respect for the iconic Frenchman, whom he idolised while growing up. It is worth noting that Bellingham currently wears the same number Zidane once donned during his time with Los Blancos.

Despite Real Madrid being home to numerous football greats, Bellingham had no hesitation in naming his childhood hero as the player he would have cherished the opportunity to play alongside.

In an interview, when questioned about which football legend from the past he'd like to be on the pitch with, the English midfielder promptly responded, as reported by Daily Post:

"Zinedine Zidane. I would just give him the ball all the time and let him do what he wants," he said.

Given the numerous records held by Cristiano Ronaldo he has equalled, many might have expected the former Birmingham prodigy to have the desire to play alongside the club's all-time leading goal-scorer.

However, he opted for Zidane instead. When elaborating on his selection, the former Borussia Dortmund player openly admitted to having closely followed the 1998 World Cup winner during his formative years, sharing his deep admiration for the legendary footballer.

"[Zidane] was a little bit before my time, but playing midfield growing up, that is all anyone talked about. People would say, ‘you have to watch Zidane, you have to watch Zidane…’ and since then, I have watched loads of footage of him and every time, I am blown away."
