- Mbappe has now failed to score for PSG since September 19
Kylian Mbappe is facing his toughest test as a Paris Saint-Germain player after yet another goalless contribution from the France forward in the 3-1 victory against Stade Rennais.
The 24-year-old forward is currently the club’s leading all-time goalscorer with 215 goals, but he has now failed to score in his last four games for the Parisians.
According to Get Football, it is the longest Mbappe has gone without scoring for PSG since the France forward went on a five-game run without scoring in April-May 2018.
The French superstar has failed to find the net recently against Olympique de Marseille as well as Clermont Foot 63, Newcastle United and now Stade Rennais.
Mbappe last hit the target for Les Parisians in their Champions League victory against Borussia Dortmund on September 19 when he netted from the penalty spot in the 2-0 win.
Enrique defends Mbappe after poor form
Meanwhile, Luis Enrique has come to the defence of struggling forward Kylian Mbappe after he was criticised in the media for his lack of goals recently, PSG Talk reports.
The Paris Saint-Germain manager insists the 24-year-old forward is human after all and is allowed to have a purple patch, which is normal for every footballer following his recent goal drought.
Mbappe, who already has eight goals this season, has not had the best performance in the last four matches for PSG and is dealing with an ankle injury he suffered during the 4-0 win over Olympique de Marseille.
