- Harry Kane left Tottenham Hotspur to join Bayern Munich in August for over €100 million, according to multiple reports
- The England captain has made a sensational start in Germany
Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has said the club paid only €95 million to acquire the services of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in August.
Initial reports indicated that the German champions paid over €100 million to buy him from the English side.
Kane's transfer took several weeks, but there was a feeling that it was only a matter of time before the 30-year-old joined Bayern, especially considering he only had a year left on his deal. The England star signed a four-year deal in Bavaria.
Hoeness recently disclosed what the club spent to get Kane.
"We only spent 95 million euros to sign Kane," Hoeness told German outlet BR24.
Still, Kane remains Bayern's most expensive player. The second most expensive player is Lucas Hernandez, who arrived at the club in 2019 for €80 million.
Kane's superb start at Bayern
Whatever the fee is, it doesn't matter as the England captain has made a terrific start to life in Germany.
After ten games, the Englishman has scored nine goals, with eight of those coming in the Bundesliga, per Transfermarkt. He has made history with the club as well.
After Bayern beat VfL Bochum 7-0 on Matchday 5, Kane scored a hat-trick, becoming the first Bayern player to score seven goals in their first five league appearances.
Gerd Müller (1965), Miroslav Klose (2007) and Mario Mandžukić (2012) scored five goals in their first five league games.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported on Kane meeting his German lookalike last month.
He scored his first hat-trick in the Bundesliga, donned the traditional Lederhosen, and drank some beer at the annual Oktoberfest celebrations.
That was not all; the former Tottenham Hotspur striker also got to meet his German doppelganger at the event and got to take a picture with him for the first time.
