As captured by Canal Afrique, the 27-year-old forward whipped in a cross from about 30 yards out which left the Freiburg goalkeeper with no chance of saving it.
Subsequently, discussions arose regarding whether Coman’s strike was intentional. Coman’s teammate Alphonso Davies, as reported by @iMiaSanMia, confirmed that the winger indeed intended the strike and that it was not a stroke of luck. Davies stated,
“I celebrated with him [Coman], I asked him: did you mean it? He said of course. So I guess he did.”
The French forward, who has been in scorching form since the start of the season, will aim to maintain his impressive performance when his team faces the Bundesliga’s bottom-placed side, Mainz 05.
