City initially suffered a 2-1 surprise defeat against Wolves in the Premier League and were hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they faced Arsenal on Sunday, October 8.

However, this was not the case, as the reigning champions went on to suffer another domestic defeat.
According to The Mirror, Gabriel Martinelli's brilliant deflected goal deep in the second half was the only difference as the Gunners silenced City at home.
The tie looked set to end in a goalless draw before Martinelli came off the bench to fire the hosts into victory.
ESPN reports that this is the first time City have suffered two straight Premier League defeats since 2018.
