- Khama Billiat has been a free agent since failing to renew his contract with Kaizer Chiefs
- The Zimbabwean striker is reported to have had offers from Saudi Arabia
- Cape Town City is looking like the next destination for Billiat to continue his career
Khama Billiat’s time in the wilderness seems set to be coming to an end.
The 33-year-old Zimbabwean is said to be lining up a move back to Cape Town, where he first began his journey in South African football.
Kaizer Chiefs did not renew Billiat’s contract at the end of last season, but the veteran is believed to have received several offers, including from Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Billiat is an award-winning player having won PSL Player of the Season, PSL Players’ Player of the Season and PSL Midfielder of the Season, all in 2016, as listed by TransferMarkt.
Cape football magnate John Comits was responsible for bringing Billiat to South Africa while still involved with Ajax Cape Town.
This faith in a tried and tested commodity is set to reunite the pair at Cape Town City.
Nothing is official yet, and Comitis has been sure not to give anything away but was full of praise for Billiat when speaking to KickOff Magazine.
“Listen, in Khama Billiat, you’ve got a natural goalscorer, he is a good link player, he can get players together, and he’s got an eye for goal.
“I brought him through from Zimbabwe when he was a young boy, so I know him very well, clearly.” said Comitis.
The Saudi Pro League is pulling talent from far and wide, and Billiat has reportedly been on the wealthy league's radar.
Comitis acknowledged the possibility of Billiat choosing Saudi Arabia, saying:
“He had an opportunity to sign in Saudi Arabia, which obviously would be very beautiful.

Billiat keeping a low profile
Sports Brief earlier reported that Billiat was remaining conspicuous in his absence.
Billiat was last seen at Chiefs’ Naturena Village on June 29, a day before his contract with the club was due to expire.
The player has not been active on social media, and it is unclear whether he is still in South Africa or is permanently in Zimbabwe.
