Olivier Giroud is the man of the moment in Milan after his goalkeeping heroics in the club's 1-0 win over Genoa. He is receiving love from fans and got a cheeky message from an ex-teammate.
The French striker was chosen by his teammates to finish the game as goalkeeper after Mike Maignan was red-carded following a knee-height collision with the chest of Caleb Ekuban.
As Sports Brief reported previously, Giroud made a double save to preserve his team's lead and help them see out a 1-0 win after former Chelsea teammate, Christian Pulisic put the team ahead in the 87th minute.

The club are taking advantage of the situation. First, they added the striker as part of the goalkeepers on their website, then they printed 'Giroud 9' goalkeeper shirts and made them available for sale in the AC Milan store.
As spotted by Sempre Milan, all sizes of all the shirts were sold out in less than 24 hours after they were made available for sale, but custom printing was still open.
Ibrahimovic sends message to Giroud
The 37-year-old also received a message from his former teammate, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 42-year-old reshared a video of the club printing the jersey and added a cheeky caption while requesting it.
"Never too late to find your real position 🤣🤣🤣," he wrote on Instagram.
Ibrahimovic announced his retirement in the final game of last season. The club was caught mostly by surprise, with the Swede having planned to leave after an injury-laden second spell.

As Sports Brief also reported, Maignan applauded Giroud's heroics on Instagram. However, Milan will be without the shot-stopper for three games, including against Juventus and Napoli.
The France international goalkeeper left the pitch on Saturday evening looking distraught as he left the team in a dangerous position and defending a slim lead after his red card incident.
