However, Mourinho's charges have since managed to bounce back to winning ways, having recorded two victories in their most recent outings.

According to Metro UK, Roma followed up a 2-0 win against Frosinone with a huge 4-0 victory against Swiss side Servette in the Europa League on Thursday.

Roma ready to show Mourinho the door

Be that as it may, reports in Italy claim that Roma are keen to get rid of Mourinho.

Correire dello Sport claims that the club's owner Dan Friedkin wanted to sack the Portuguese after their 4-1 defeat away to Genoa last month.

According to the publication, Friedkin is still intent on sacking the former Premier League boss, with a defeat to Cagliari on Sunday expected to seal the Portuguese's fate.

So much so that Roma are said to have already lined up a replacement for Mourinho in the shape of Hansi Flick.

Flick is currently without a job after he was sacked as Germany's head coach after their recent 4-1 defeat against Japan in an international friendly.

Meanwhile, this is Mourinho's third season with Roma, having joined them in 2021 after he departed Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho explains why Messi wins more Ballon d'Or

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jose Mourinho once put forth a theory regarding why Lionel Messi might win more Ballon d'Or awards compared to his age-old nemesis, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The two veterans enjoyed an incredible rivalry at the pinnacle of global football, collectively securing an astonishing 12 Ballon d'Or awards between them from 2008 to 2017.
