Spurs boss Postecoglou wants 'armless defenders' after Arsenal penalty row

As the debate on the contentious VAR decision involving Luis Diaz’s goal last weekend, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has weighed in on the matter with some interesting sentiments.
Spurs maintained their unbeaten start to the league campaign thanks to a 2-1 win over Liverpool amid controversial circumstances on Sunday, October 1.
Luis Diaz appeared to have opened the scoring for his side when Liverpool were down to 10 men, but his goal was ruled out and it was later determined that he was, in fact, onside.
Referees' body PGMOL released the audio of the incident where the public learnt that Video Assistant referee Darren England said the check was "perfect", as cited on BBC.

FootballMiscommunication between the match referee Simon Hooper and the VAR officials subsequently led to the goal getting ruled out, leading to mass outrage from football stakeholders.
When asked about the incident, Postecoglou was adamant his side would not have allowed Liverpool to score an uncontested goal.
"I just don't see that, if we want managers to be the arbiters of these kind of things. We've got pretty hefty responsibilities at our football clubs but we're not the custodians. I wouldn't make a decision that could potentially send a club down on the back of what my beliefs are," he said as per Daily Star.
He added: "In that moment, if somebody could tell me that they could explain everything that went on within the prism of 30 seconds.... I have to make a decision and it wasn't going to happen. It's different if it's something clear. It was a bad error through a lack of communication but it wasn't something that was easily explainable. If it was easily explainable, I would assume there would have been [less] uproar than there was."
Klopp hails 'massive' strides made by Nunez
FootballMeanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has since called for a replay of the match, but that is unlikely to happen, according to BBC.
According to the Spurs boss, a ‘mistake’ should not warrant such drastic action as a replay of a Premier League match.
To prevent the same mistake, VARs will confirm the outcome of any decisions with their assistants before notifying the on-pitch match officials.
In their early kick off on Saturday, Tottenham continued their dream start to the Premier League season as they beat Luton Town 1-0 despite going down to 10 men.
Dutch defender Van de Ven found the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute as the North Londoners kept of Luton despite having Yves Bissouma sent off in the first half.
Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on how Andre Onana ran the full length of the pitch just to thank Scot McTominay for scoring a late winner for Manchester United.
