James Ward-Prowse has admitted that he was disappointed after Gareth Southgate omitted him from England's latest squad.
The West Ham midfielder was among the surprise exclusions from the Three Lions squad for the October set of international games.
Captain and talisman, Harry Kane leads the squad as usual, with Ollie Watkins called up alongside him after his recent purple patch.
Under-fire Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford has also been included along with his embattled former captain, Harry Maguire.
Arsenal's Bukayo Saka is in the squad despite picking up an injury in their midweek Champions League clash against Lens.

FootballThe major missing name was Ward-Prowse, who has settled well into life in the capital. The dead-ball specialist has so far scored twice and assisted three times in the Premier League alone.
"Yeah, huge disappointment. Like I said many times in interviews, you can only control what you can control as a player, and that's playing to a certain level that you believe is good enough to be in that squad.“It's important that you play regularly and I'm doing both at the minute. I feel like I’m in a good place, and it's not gone my way," said the 28-year-old, as quoted by Euro Sport.
Southgate chose to go with Conor Gallagher, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, James Maddison, and Declan Rice as his midfield options.
Ward-Prowse's teammate, Jarrod Bowen was called up after a stellar start to the campaign with the Hammers.

Previously, Sports Brief reported on Southgate condemning criticism of Maguire as he termed pundits' takes on the defender as 'a joke'.
In his 59th cap for England, he unfortunately scored an own goal as the Three Lions claimed a 3-1 win over Scotland on September 12.
Maguire had started on the substitute's bench for his national team but came on at half-time after an apparent injury to Marc Guehi.
