FootballBellingham: Real Madrid Star Labeled “Best Player in the World” by Football Pundit
- Jude Bellingham's career at Real Madrid has started well
- The Englishman has scored eight goals already and has become a key player for Real Madrid
- Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has called him the best player in the world
Jude Bellingham is enjoying a dream start at Real Madrid with eight goals and three assists in his opening nine games for the club after his big-money transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
The Englishman scored a superb solo goal against Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday, October 3, to help the Spanish giants win 3-2.
After that performance, TNT Sports expert Owen Hargreaves boldly called the 20-year-old the "best player in the world," a statement that is quite controversial.
The former Manchester United midfielder did clarify his claim by saying the English international is the best based on "current form."
“He’s the best player in the world right now, on current form,” he said. “I know it’s only early doors, but we just heard the numbers...nine games, eight goals, three assists. He’s not even playing his position. He’s not a No. 10 and he’s scoring goals like a No. 9, replacing [Karim] Benzema," via Eurosport.
Calling Bellingham the best player in the world is bold, especially considering Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haalanmd have started the season well.
Mbappe and Haaland were nominated for the 2023 Ballon d'Or award, and the Norweigian is the favourite to win the award, per ESPN.
