Barcelona’s top marksman, Robert Lewandowski is set to miss a few crucial games for the Catalan giants according to an update about the injury he picked up against FC Porto.
The reigning La Liga champions have confirmed the 34-year-old forward sprained his left ankle after a rash tackle by defender, David Carmo and could be ruled out for up to one month.
According to Football Espana, Lewandowski’s latest injury setback could rule him out of Barcelona’s crucial home clash with Real Madrid in El Clasico on October 28.
The Poland forward could also miss trips away to Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League as well as La Liga games against Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Alaves, and Granada.
Lewandowski, who beat Karim Benzema to the Pichichi Award last season in Spain, currently tops this campaign's La Liga scoring chart with five goals from eight games played so far, and will certainly be missed.

Meanwhile, Barcelona experienced a significant setback in their Champions League match against FC Porto as star scorer, Lewandowski was taken off with an injury, GOAL reports.
The 34-year-old was spotted with an ice pack strapped to his left ankle on the bench after he went down clutching his left leg following a tough tackle from opposition player, David Carmo.
After treatment, Lewandowski was replaced by Ferran Torres, who went on to score the winning goal as Barcelona continued their winning run in the Champions League this season.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Lewandowski making UEFA history recently, becoming the third player to score 100 goals in competitions organised by the European football body.
He accomplished the feat by volleying Barcelona’s second goal in their 5-0 win over Royal Antwerp, joining football icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on that very exclusive list.
