- Lionel Messi once asked Kevin-Prince Boateng about the goal-scoring opportunities in Italy
- The former AC Milan star said the Argentine once asked him if he could 'score like Ronaldo'
- Cristiano Ronaldo shattered many goal records in the Serie A during his time with Juventus
Former AC Milan star, Kevin-Prince Boateng has disclosed that Lionel Messi once asked him if he could match Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal-scoring in Italy.
In 2019, the German-born Ghanaian joined Barcelona on loan from Italian club, Sassuolo and played alongside the Argentine legend.
At the time, Ronaldo was ripping apart the Serie A at Juventus, painting the top flight league with goals.
The Portuguese striker scored a staggering 101 goals for the Old Lady in just over three seasons before he left.
Ronaldo won two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, and two Supercoppa Italiana titles during his time with the Italian giants.
He was also named the Serie A Player of the Year twice, winning it in 2019 and 2020.
During an episode of the VIBE with FIVE podcast, Boateng told Rio Ferdinand and his co-hosts that he once had a conversation with Messi while in Spain.
He stated the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner once asked him if he could score lots of goals in Italy.
Boateng said, via GiveMeSport:
"...We spoke one time in the shower because he asked me if it’s difficult to score in Italy. Because Ronaldo, at that time, was in Italy, and he asked me ‘Would I score a lot of goals?’ and I said ‘You score wherever you want, you know, you’re Messi’."
Boateng said the conversation helped show the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi.
"They respect each other a lot, but you could see he was asking: ‘Is it difficult?’. I said it’s more difficult because it’s more important in Italy to keep a clean sheet at the back than to score, you know," the recently-retired footballer added.

FootballRonaldo nutmegged by Istiklol player
Sports Brief also reported on footage emerging online showing Ronaldo being humbled during Al-Nassr's AFC Champions League match against Istiklol Dushanbe.
The Portuguese veteran played a crucial role in spearheading a thrilling comeback victory for the Saudis against the Tajik side at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh on October 2.
However, Ronaldo attempted to apply pressure on the Istiklol defence but was left red-faced when his opponent nonchalantly slipped the ball right between his legs.
