Pitso Mosimane has scored a major win for his new club Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League semi-final against his Wydad Casablanca.
Al Ahly won 2-0 in the semi-final match through an early goal and a second-half penalty. This win has placed Al Ahly firmly in the running for a spot in the finals which will take place on 6 November.
This was the first home defeat for Widdad in 27 CAF matches and Ahly managed to get one back after losing to the club in the 2017 finals according to News24.
This is a great start for Mosimane who left Pretoria club Mamelodi Sundowns to take over the reins of the 133-year-old Egyptian football club.
"This is a special victory for the players, technical staff, officials, employees and supporters of Al Ahly," he told AFP.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that South African soccer manager Pitso Mosimane has asked God for help. Mosimane recently signed with the Egyptian team, Al Ahly. Now he shared an image of himself holding the CAF Champions League trophy with the caption: "Please God help me."
Judging from the caption and image, Mosimane is asking God to help him guide Al Ahly to win their ninth CAF Champions League title. The team is currently the most successful club in terms of CAF Champions League, having won eight titles so far.
Mosimane's tweet was met with love and positivity. Al Ahly's official Twitter responded to his tweet with: "Together we can do it." Tweeps have also responded to the 56-year-old's tweet with support.

FootballIn other news, Steve Komphela is now part of the Mamelodi Sundowns' technical team. The 53-year-old signed a deal with Masandawana to act as a senior coach.
According to the Sundowns, Komphela will report to the joint head coaches, Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi.
A statement by the Brazilians read:
"Masandawana let's welcome @komphelasteve to the home of the Champions! He will join the Brazilians' technical team as a first team senior coach reporting to the joint head coaches."
