Alvaro Morata has found his shooting boots since returning to Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish striker has been in a rich vein of form for the La Liga side, with his latest goals helping him surpass three legends.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus star netted twice in the UEFA Champions League, as Madrid came twice from behind to beat Feyenoord.
The Dutch side took the lead in the seventh minute thanks to an unfortunate Mario Hermoso own goal, but Morata got the equaliser five minutes later.
While there was a VAR check over a possible offside, the goal was allowed to stand.
His first goal took him to 24 goals in the Champions League, drawing him level with Cesc Fabregas and Luis Figo on 24, UEFA’s website noted.
Morata grabbed his second goal in the second half, surpassing the two legends and drawing level with two more.
With his 25th goal in the competition, Morata equalled another former Juventus and Real striker, Gonzalo Higuain. He also joined former Manchester United star Paul Scholes, who also scored 25 goals in the competition.
Morata has now moved into the top 50 scorers in the competition.
Atletico will be hoping for more of the same from the Spanish striker, as he has been in excellent goalscoring form since returning from his loan spell at Juventus.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Morata has scored seven goals in just eight games for Diego Simeone’s men this season.
