FootballAncelotti Hilariously ‘Questions’ Bellingham’s Age After Solo UCL Goal Against Napoli
- Jude Bellingham recorded a brilliant solo goal to help Real Madrid beat Napoli
- He skipped past the whole defence before slotting past goalkeeper Alex Meret
- Carlo Ancelotti is amazed at Bellingham's football maturity at just 20 years old
Jude Bellingham continued his impressive start to life as a Real Madrid player with a brilliant solo effort to give his team the lead over Napoli after first falling behind.
It was an intense encounter between the two sides, with the home team gaining an early advantage after Kepa Arrizabalaga failed to deal with a cross leading to the opening goal.
Bellingham assisted Vinicius Jr. for the equaliser, intercepting a poor pass from Giovanni Di Lorenzo before scoring a magnificent solo effort, skipping past the entire Napoli defence.
The Neapolitans got back into the game through Piotr Zielinski from the penalty spot before Federico Valverde won it for the 14-time UCL winners with an absolute rocket.
Ancelotti 'questions' Bellingham's age
Bellingham was awarded the Champions League Man of the Match award after yet another impressive performance in just his ninth game for Real Madrid since joining from Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo, Ancelotti was curiously asked if he believes the player is in fact 20 years old and the Italian boss provided a rather funny response.
"No, not sure. You'll have to check his passport. Fantastic player, strong character, personality. I'm really surprised by this, it is difficult to find a 20-year-old with such strong character and personality. Fantastic signing for us," he said.
Madrid paid an initial £88.5 million for the Englishman - a fee that could rise to £115mil if certain add-on conditions are met. The former Birmingham City midfielder has eight goals and three assists in nine games for Los Blancos.
He scored the winning goal in the opening group game against Union Berlin, a 94th-minute goal to rescue the 2022 winners from a spirited debutant.

FootballFerdinand jokes about Bellingham's age
It was not the first time his age had been questioned. As Sports Brief reported, Rio Ferdinand joked about Bellingham's age after his impressive performance for England at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Then just 19, he had just put up a brilliant performance for the Three Lions in the round of 16 win over Senegal. The former international asked to see Bellingham's birth certificate as he felt he was too mature.
