- The Bafana Bafana forward returned from a two-game suspension with an incredible display
- Burnley won the game 2-1 as they move to the 18th position on the Premier League standings
South African international, Lyle Foster was on the scoresheet as Burnley defeated Luton Town in an intense Premier League clash on Tuesday night, October 3.
The 23-year-old, who was returning from a three-match suspension, was sensational on the night, helping his side record their first league victory of the season.
It was Foster's third goal of the campaign, having netted in the first-half stoppage time at Kenilworth Road after a pass from Sander Berge.
The hosts fought back courtesy of an Elijah Adebayo strike in the 83rd, but substitute, Jacob Bruun Larsen had other plans when he silenced the crowd.
The Dane restored the lead for the visitors just over a minute later, after cutting inside before firing a curling shot into the far top corner.
Having claimed all three points, Burnley move to 18th with four points, behind Luton on goal difference after the Hatters won 2-1 at Everton last Saturday.
The match between the two promoted sides was postponed from August due to required improvement work at Luton's aged ground.
ESPN reports that it was also the first top-flight encounter between the two sides since the 1974-75 season.
Recall that Forster was suspended for two matches following an elbow to the midsection of Nottingham Forrest’s Ryan Yates in their Premier League encounter.
What Burnley chairman said about Vincent Kompany
Sports Brief earlier reported that Burnley chairman, Alan Pace used a hilariously bizarre analogy to explain Vincent Kompany’s situation at the club.
Under the ex-Manchester City star, the Clarets gained promotion back to the EPL after winning the Championship title with an impressive 101 points.
Kompany's style of coaching has attracted a number of suitors, with Burnley fearful they might lose him after his triumph in England’s second tier.
