FootballNeymar Opens Goal Scoring Account for Al Hilal in Asian Champions League: Video
- Neymar has broken his goal-scoring duck for Al-Hilal
- The former Barcelona and PSG star needed four games to find the back of the net for the Blue Waves
- He will hope to continue on this trajectory after ending his goal drought
Neymar Junior has at last opened his goal-scoring account for Al-Hilal during their AFC Champions League encounter with Iranian club Nassaji Mazandaran.
The Brazilian forward had experienced a somewhat lacklustre start to his stint in Riyadh, but finally found the back of the net for the Blue Waves at the Azadi Stadium on Tuesday, October 3.
Before breaking his goal drought, Neymar had previously missed a penalty in the Saudi Pro League but had managed to provide an assist against Al-Shabab, which sent his side to the summit of the league log.
However, he put an end to his goal-scoring dry spell with a well-executed half-volley inside the penalty box, doubling Hilal's lead, according to GOAL.
A smooth give-and-go with Nasser Aldawsari unlocked Mazandaran's defence, and then the Brazilian expertly curled the ball into the net with his left foot to double Al-Hilal's lead at around the hour mark.

The 31-year-old's long-awaited debut goal came on either side of Aleksander Mitrovic's opener and Saleh Al Shehri's icing on the cake as Jorge Jesus's men picked up valuable points on the road with their 3-0 win, ESPN reports.
The four-time Asian champions now lead Group D by virtue of their superior goal difference over Uzbek giants Navbahor Namangan after two matches.
Al-Hilal boss refutes 'clash' with Neymar
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Al-Hilal manager, Jorge Jesus has affirmed his excellent relationship with Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr., countering previous rumours of a falling out between them.
Despite speculation that the 31-year-old forward had a disagreement with his coach in the dressing room, leading to his absence from the squad for the club's King Cup victory against Al-Jabalain, the Portuguese coach has clarified that they maintain a positive rapport.
He further explained that Neymar was omitted from the squad solely due to not being "physically prepared."
