Eric Tinkler’s side took on Shaun Bartlett’s men in a Cape Town derby, and it was the blue side of the city that came out on top. City won the game 3-1 to inflict a seventh successive defeat of the season on Bartlett’s side, FAR Post reported.

The Urban Warriors now have zero wins, zero draws, and seven losses, something City quickly reminded them of with their TikTok post.

The James Bond-inspired video celebrated the blue half’s win and poked fun at the red half’s record of 0-0-7.

How City claimed derby victory

Tinkler’s men didn’t have it all their own way, as they were trailing within three minutes of the start.

Ashley Cupido gave his side the lead, which they held until the 43rd minute.

Darwin Gonzalez then grabbed an equaliser for City from the penalty spot, but they had to wait for the 70th minute until they took the lead, News 24 reported.

Siyanda Msani’s own goal in the 86th minute was the final nail in the coffin, as Bartlett’s side failed once again to pick up any points.

City celebrate league start with TikTok video

Sports Brief reported how Cape Town City are celebrating the excellent start to the DStv Premiership campaign.

The Western Cape side are unbeaten after two games and are level on points with Mamelodi Sundowns.

While it may be early in the season to start rejoicing, City’s social media team are undoubtedly enjoying their unbeaten start to the DStv Premiership season.
