According to Sky Sports, Chelsea were demanding a £7million loan fee from the Red Devils to sign Cucurella.

However, the proposed transfer move collapsed, with the Spaniard remaining at Stamford Bridge as United signed Tottenham Hotspurs' Sergio Reguilon as an alternative.

Despite continuing at Stamford Bridge, the former Brighton ace has seen game time hard to come by under Pochettino, with Ben Chilwell currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

Pochettino sends Cucurella message

Pochettino has now come out to send the left-back an urgent message, with the Chelsea boss insisting the full-back remains an important part of his plans.

“I wasn’t involved but he’s our player and I’ve been clear: he has chances, he can play," Poch said via Metro UK.
"Marc is going to work hard. It’s really clear. he’s in our plan and if he deserves to play, he will play," he added.

The Argentine made the declaration ahead of Chelsea's Premier League clash against Fulham on Sunday.

The tie comes at at time the Blues are struggling for form, having managed a paltry five points from six of their opening fixtures of the new season.
