Cristiano Ronaldo has reached a new goalscoring milestone for Saudi Pro League (SPL) side Al-Nassr after scoring against Al-Tai on Friday night, September 29.

The veteran forward has been impressive in the Middle East this year and is competing with some of Europe's best strikers like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

By scoring an 87th-minute penalty to give his side a vital win, he has now scored 30 goals for Al-Nassr. 24 of those goals have come in the SPL and six in the Arab Club Champions Cup. The six goals won him the Golden Boot of the Arab Club Champions Cup and his first trophy for the club, per Reuters.

The 28-year-old has played 28 games for Al-Nassr in the SPL and has scored 10 goals already in the 2023/24 season, which makes him the top scorer. He has also provided seven assists in the SPL.

He has also scored five goals for Portugal, meaning he has scored 35 goals in 2023 alone, per Transfermarkt.

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr missed out on the 2022/23 SPL title last season, losing to Al-Ittihad by five points, but with Ronaldo's early season form, they look like serious challengers.

Ronaldo leads Al-Nassr to victory

Against Al-Tai, Ronaldo scored and provided an assist as Al-Nassr continued their winning streak with a 2-1 victory against Al Tai.

Anderson Talisca capitalized on a clever pass from Cristiano, darting in to score with a superb left-foot strike just after the half-hour mark.

Despite strong resistance from the home side, Al-Nassr had the last word as former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star converted the penalty, taking his season tally to 10 goals in seven games.

Messi vs. Ronaldo: Drogba reveals his GOAT

Sports Brief also reported on an Ivorian legend's assessment, along with several other elite footballers, who have weighed in on the perennially divisive Ronaldo versus Messi debate.

In his opinion, Didier Drogba opted for Ronaldo as the greatest of all time when asked to pick between the two superstar players, asserting that this was also 'an established fact.'
