Former Kaizer Chiefs star, Teenage Hadebe helped Houston Dynamo to a 2-1 win over Lionel Messi's club, Inter Miami in the U.S. Open Cup final.
The Floridians have been a different side since the arrival of Messi on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and won one trophy already.
However, the Argentine missed out on the chance to make it two titles with the MLS franchise after his team lost in the U.S. Open Cup final to Houston Dynamo.
Hadebe was part of the squad that defeated Tata Martino's side in the final, with Messi not included in the team due to an injury he suffered on international duty.
The former Amakhosi defender came on late in the game to protect his team's lead and helped Houston hang on to secure the victory over Inter Miami.
The Zimbabwean international played for the Chiefs between 2017 and 2019 and has established himself as an important member of the MLS club side, according to iDiskiTimes.
The defender left the Premier Soccer League side for Turkish Superlig outfit, Yeni Malatyaspor in 2019 but moved to the American league after two seasons in Europe.
Messi was not the only superstar play who missed the game with his former Barcelona teammate, Jordi Alba also missing the tie due to injury, according to the BBC.
