  • Victor Osimhen missed a decisive spot-kick for Napoli in their 0-0 draw against Bologna
  • The club's official platform shared a video trolling him on TikTok, leading to widespread outrage
  • The Nigerian striker has a good conversion rate from the spot in his career

Victor Osimhen is not mediocre from the penalty spot despite his miss against Bologna, which has generated widespread outrage following Napoli's troll video.

Osimhen could have earned Napoli all three points against Bologna if he had converted his second-half penalty, and the aftermath of him missing it continues to generate outrage on social media.

Napoli's official TikTok published a video mocking the Nigerian striker, leading to reactions from fans. The video was brought down, and Osimhen had cut a frustrated figure since then.

Corriere dello Sport claimed that there had been bad blood between player and club after he was prevented from shooting a charity video in Africa, and the TikTok saga only heightened his unhappiness.

Osimhen's career penalty record

The Nigerian striker was the league's Capocannoniere last season, winning the Golden Boot with 26 goals in 32 games, with only two coming from the penalty spot and adding four assists to the tally.

As noted by Transfermarkt, he has a pretty decent penalty record; before the miss against Bologna, he had scored 12 of his 16 penalties, a conversion rate of 75%.

After missing his last kick, his conversion rate dropped to 70.5. He has taken five penalties for the Neapolitans, scoring three and missing two - a 60% conversion rate.

Sports Brief also reported on Osimhen's agent threatening Napoli with legal action after the official TikTok published a disparaging video about his client.

Roberto Calenda released a statement on social media condemning their act and making it clear that the player reserved every right to take legal action and other necessary steps to protect himself.

Osimhen favourite for African Best

Sports Brief previously analysed Osimhen as the favourite to win the African Best award later this year as he leads other contenders for Africa's biggest individual prize.

He helped Napoli win the Scudetto and reach the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
