FootballJadon Sancho: Man United Insiders Provide Update on Winger’s Relationship with Ten Hag
- Jadon Sancho has not featured for Manchester United since the international break.
- The winger reportedly has little chance of mending his relationship with his manager
- Insiders at the club now claim the relationship between the player and manager is beyond repair
It could be the end of Jadon Sancho’s spell at Manchester United as we know it, as the winger’s relationship with manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly ‘beyond repair’.
Ten Hag and Sancho have been involved in a public row since the manager criticized Sancho’s work ethic in training.
Sancho then went on a tirade on social media, slamming the manager’s comments while insisting he maintained professionalism in training.
But the comments did not sit well with Ten Hag, who banished the £250k-a-week winger from first-team activities.
According to The Mirror, the United boss wants Sancho to publicly apologize for his actions for a chance to be reintegrated back into the first team.
As of September 28, there are no signs of either of the two backing down on their stance and British newspaper inews now reports that insiders have revealed their relationship is ‘beyond repair’.
“If he [Sancho] were simply to apologize now and admit the manager was right, it would undermine going public with his views and invite similar treatment in the future”. The sources were quoted saying.
Things took a turn for the worse for Sancho as not only was he banned from the first team, he is also not allowed to access the team’s facilities, including the dining room. Sancho is also banned from attending matches at Old Trafford.
In the wake of the 3-0 Carabao Cup win against Crystal Palace, Ten Hag was quizzed about the availability of Sancho and the status of their relationship. He responded by saying:
“I do not comment about unavailable players. I don’t know, it’s up to him.”

FootballSancho’s past disciplinary issues
Sports Brief also reported on Sancho’s past issues with discipline as it turns out that Ten Hag is not the first manager to take issue with him over his work ethic.
In 2019, Sky Sports reported how Sancho was slapped with a hefty fine and dropped by Borussia Dortmund ahead of a clash with Borussia Monchengladbach.
Lucien Favre, who was Dortmund’s boss at the time, was reportedly angry with Sancho for returning late from international duty.
