Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie has responded to rumours that she prefers women over men after a post on social media got Nigerians speculating about her sexuality.
The defender posted a photo with a female friend on her Instagram story, sparking fans to claim she was part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Alozie has since opened up about her sexuality amid the growing speculation among her fans.
The US-based footballer was surprised by the reaction from her fans due to the photo she posted and feels there are other important things to talk about.

She later commented:
The 26-year-old, who plays for Houston Dash, shot to prominence following her outstanding performances at the 2023 World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.
She was involved in an infamous moment with England star, Lauren James, who was sent off in the round of 16 clash for stepping on the back of the Nigerian defender, as reported by the BBC.
The versatile player helped the Super Falcons reach the knockout stage of the tournament in July and August.
