Having earned a nomination for this year's Golden Boy award, the 20-year-old has garnered attention as one of the emerging talents poised to assume the legacy left by Lionel Messi and his counterpart, Cristiano Ronaldo.

When discussing his short-to-medium-term goals, the German international disclosed his aspiration to attain the highest possible level in his football career.

“In 1 or 2 years, I want to be at the highest possible level,” Musiala told Sports Bild, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
"I want to be one of the best players in the world. It’s my plan and ambition.”

Even though he secured a spot on the 30-man shortlist for the 2023 Ballon d'Or award, Musiala faces limited prospects of claiming the most prestigious individual honour in football this year. Nevertheless, he stands ready to ascend to the podium in the years to come.

“That's my idea. I hope to compete for the Ballon d’Or,” he ended.
