FootballChelsea Legend Names 4 Stars to Blame for the Club’s Poor Run of Results
- Chelsea have been struggling for form and results since the start of the new season
- Ex-centre-back Frank Leboeuf has now laid into four players in the wake of the disastrous run
- The Blues have picked up only one win in six outings so far this season
Chelsea icon Frank Leboeuf has appeared to blame four players for the Blues' continued struggles in the Premier League.
The west Londoners have endured a disastrous start to the new season under new boss Mauricio Pochettino, and find themselves rocked in 14th place in the standings.
The 2021 Champions League winners have secured only one win since the start of the new season, dropping points in five other fixtures.
Chelsea's latest outing ended in a 1-0 humiliating defeat at the hands of Aston Villa on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
Evening Standard reports that Ollie Watkins was the visitors' hero, as his solitary goal of the match condemned the Blues to a defeat.
Leboeuf lays into 4 stars
Leboeuf has now singled four Chelsea stars for blame in the wake of the club's woeful run of form and results.
Speaking to ESPN, the Frenchman laid into the likes of Raheem Sterling and Mykhaylo Mudryk, who have failed to hit the ground running.
The legendary centre-back did not have kind words for Enzo Fernandez and summer signing Nicolas Jackson as well.
"Nicolas Jackson has a future, but last year he was struggling until the other striker from Villarreal got injured so he came on," The Mirror quoted Leboeuf saying.
"After that, Enzo Fernandez is not a top scorer. [...] Raheem Sterling has never been a top scorer. He has been so clumsy in front of the goal, but he does have other qualities.
"Mykhaylo Mudryk we don’t know what he’s worth because he just came from nowhere for £100m. And the others, I don’t know," he added.
