Football"I Will Even Play as a Goalkeeper": Sofyan Amrabat After Man United's Win Over Crystal Palace
- Sofyan Amrabat has finally made his Manchester United home debut
- The Morocco international starred as the Red Devils defeated Crystal Palace
- Amrabat is on loan from Italian club Fiorentina
Morocco midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat says he is ready to play in any position for Manchester United even if it means keeping the post for the English giants.
The on-loan Fiorentina star impressed on his full debut as Manchester United brushed aside Crystal Palace to advance in the EFL Cup.
The 27-year-old was deployed in the left-back role as manager Erik ten Hag tests the versatility of the Moroccan World Cup star.
"I told the manager, I will play wherever he needs me, even if it is like a goalkeeper. I will play where I can help. Today it was left-back but I had a bit of free role. I think it's also because I played a lot in midfield," he told Sky Sports after the game.
The Red Devils started the defence of their EFL Cup with an emphatic 3-0 win, with goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial, as reported by The Guardian.
"I think it was a very good performance. We won 3-0 and it is very important. I think we started with Burnley, we showed character and I hope we can continue like this," Amrabat added.
Amrabat made his Manchester United debut in the Premier League against Burnley, coming on in the second-half of the 1-0 win at Turf Moor.
Erik ten Hag wants more from Alejandro Garnacho
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Erik ten Hag warned Alejandro Garnacho that his previous performances this season were "not good enough" after the Manchester United teenager scored in Tuesday's League Cup win against Crystal Palace.
United eased the pressure on Ten Hag as they followed Saturday's 1-0 success at Burnley in the Premier League by beating Palace 3-0 in the third round at Old Trafford.
Garnacho put United ahead with a clinical first-half strike from Diogo Dalot's cross before Casemiro and Anthony Martial completed the comfortable victory.
