FootballMan United 3:0 Crystal Palace: Fans Make Same Observation About Team in The Absence of Rashford
- Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup third round
- Erik Ten Hag made several changes to his side, as Sofyan Amrabat made his first start for the club
- United fans on social media made an uncanny observation about the team after the victory
Manchester United fans delivered a brutal verdict on two of their key players after the comprehensive victory over Crystal Palace on Tuesday, September 26.
Straight from a 1-0 win over Burnley, United were in EFL Cup action as they sought to defend a trophy they won last season.
Erik ten Hag made considerable changes to the team that beat Burnley over the weekend, with Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes the most notable absentees.
Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane made a return at the heart of the defence, while summer loan signing Sofyan Amrabat started with Casemiro in midfield.
In attack, the gaffer trusted Anthony Martial up front as Hannibal Mejbri, Mason Mount and Alejandro Garnacho supported just behind the Frenchman.
United were 1-0 up after 20 minutes as Diogo Dalot showed great vision to find Garnacho, whose shot found the back of the net through a Palace defender on the goal line.
Casemiro, who had been excellent throughout the first half, deservedly got a goal with a glancing header from Mason Mount’s corner to make it 2-0.
As reported on BBC, ten minutes after the restart Anthony Martial ghosted in behind left-back Nathaniel Clyne to pounce on an overhead ball from Casemiro to put the result beyond doubt.
Goals aside, United looked menacing going forward, and there was a hint of confidence within the team in the way they were moving the ball around.
The Eagles simply could not keep up, as practically all the players appeared determined to have a flawless game, and fans picked up on it.
