Real Madrid fans will have to wait a little longer to watch their young summer signing Arda Guler debut after he suffered another injury on Tuesday, shortly after he was declared fit.
The 18-year-old, dubbed the 'Turkish Messi', underwent surgery earlier last month and was expected to play this week against Las Palmas in La Liga.
Shortly after head coach Carlo Ancelotti said that Guler, Vinicius Junior, and Dani Carvajal were ready to play, Real Madrid released a statement about the youngster's injury.
"After the tests carried out on our player Arda Güler by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the left rectus femoris muscle. His progress will be monitored."
Multiple reports in Spain indicate that the youngster will miss up to a month, a massive blow to the player and fans who were expecting to see him make his debut.
The club has not released a timeline for his return. He joins Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois on the sidelines.
The Spanish giants signed Guler from Fenerbahce in a deal worth £25 million, and he has signed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu, per Eurosport.
