FootballErling Haaland Turns Into a Viking in Delightful Charity Photoshoot
- Erling Haaland recently delighted in Viking attire for a photoshoot
- This came days after he scored yet another goal for Manchester City in their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest
- The shoot happened after Haaland was convinced by his father Alfie and an award-winning photographer
Erling Haaland channelled his inner Viking recently as he embarked on an exciting photoshoot with an award-winning photographer.
The Norwegian is one of the best football players in the business and is in contention to win his first Ballon d’Or.
Despite his hectic schedule on the pitch, Haaland took some time off to return to his homeland.
Football fans who are also in touch with culture will know that Norway has had a long associated history with Vikings, and it is not strange to see football fans in cultural Viking wear in stadiums during matches.
Haaland appears to have joined in on the craze, thanks to some convincing from his father and a talented photographer known as David Yarrow on Instagram.
While the 23-year-old striker is not a big fan of the spotlight, he made an exception recently, and it proved worth it as the photos from the shoot were quite delightful to see.
Thanks to the brilliance of Yarrow, Haaland could easily have been mistaken for an actual Viking and not a football player as he was dressed in boots and a fur chest covering.
He also held up a traditional Viking axe and shield to completely embrace the role.
Yarrow told The Times that despite the beautiful outcome of the shoot, it was not that easy to achieve the final look.
“We had some rubber boots made specially for Erling because in these fjords in Norway there are a lot of little oyster shells,” he said.

Football“As we walked into the fjord that afternoon, I remember thinking, he better not stand on a sharp rock, as the subsequent lawsuit would finish my career. So we walked very gingerly - baby step by baby step - until he was waist deep, which of course is further out to sea than most.”
Prospective buyers of the limited images will have to part ways with £35,000 - £40,000, with the money set to go to charity.
Why Messi should beat Haaland for Ballon d’Or
Sports Brief also reported on why Lionel Messi is favourite to beat the likes of Haaland and Kylian Mbappe for the Ballon d’Or.
Messi is staking a claim with his World Cup triumph with Argentina in Qatar and a league title win with Paris Saint-Germain. At the same time, Haaland helped Manchester City to a treble in his first season in English football, picking up both the league and Champions League top scorer awards.
