FootballMessi or Ronaldo? Son Heung Min Names His All Time Favourite Athletes
- Son Heung Min had an interesting answer when asked about the greatest athletes of all time
- The South Korean was sure to include basketball legend Michael Jordan in his list of all-time favourite athletes
- When it came to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Son could not pick between the two
Son Heung Min recently weighed in on the endless GOAT debate with a diplomatic answer when asked who were his favourite athletes of all time.
The Tottenham winger knows a thing or two about football and sports in general, hence it came as no surprise that he did not stick to one name when asked about his favourite athlete.
Off the top of his head, Son immediately named Michael Jordan and Tom Brady, the retired American football quarterback who impressively played in the National Football League for 23 seasons.
For the other athletes he admires, Son had to think long and hard, and it was obvious he was pondering whether to go for Ronaldo or Inter Miami star Lionel Messi.
Like millions of football fans across the world, the 30-year-old found it difficult to pick just one from the two and ended up naming both players as his favourite.
So in a nutshell, this is what the Tottenham winger Heung Min Son had to say when asked to name his favourite athletes of all time, as cited on ESPN:
“Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Messi and Ronaldo.”
Son is not the only one who fell short of a conclusive answer in the GOAT debate.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s national teammate Vitinha also found it very difficult to single out the better player between the two superstars, who are in the twilight days of their careers after a fierce 15-year rivalry, as per Essentially Sports.
Former Manchester City star praises Cristiano Ronaldo as 'Genius' in recent interview
Football“Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two extraterrestrials. I’m privileged to have played with both of them. I’m going to tell my grandkids one day that I was able to play with both of them.” Said Vitinha, who has played alongside the two superstars.
Opposition manager refuses to say plan to stop Messi
Sports Brief also reported on Houston Dynamo manager Ben Olsen’s interesting answer when asked on how he planned to quell Lionel Messi.
Inter Miami will be back in action as they take on Houston Dynamo in the U.S Open Cup final in a game which Messi is expected to make a return.
"If I had the right plan to stop him [Messi], I wouldn't give it to you. I don't want to get into that too much." He said, as per ESPN.
