Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies striker, Miche Minnies has disclosed that her father laughed at the claims by fans that she looked like Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho.

A photo of the 21-year-old went viral on social media recently while she was on duty at the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers in Durban.

Fans likened her to Ronaldinho in looks, while others said she played like the former Barcelona superstar.

Minnies stated her biological father also had a good laugh about the matter but affirmed she is his daughter.

In a chat with Lethabo Kgayago of iDiski Times, the Sundowns Ladies star stated the Brazilian legend is not her dad and she does not even think she looks like him.

The former Vasco Da Gama Ladies player said:

"But what I can say is that sometimes God works in a mysterious way. So you don’t know, maybe I can get something out of him and he can maybe boost me to get me things like a team, you understand? But he is not my father."

Minnies said she understood how social media can be but does not have a problem with the comparisons.

"[My father] was like, 'No, that is my child! How can they say that she’s Ronaldinho’s child? Ja, and some people told me, 'Don’t take it like personally and seriously because it’s just talk'."

Minnies scores against Costa do Sol

Sports Brief previously reported on Minnies scoring Sundowns' second goal as they beat Costa do Sol in the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers.

The victory meant Masandwana topped the qualifying group with nine points from three games.

As a result, they will face Zambia’s Green Buffaloes in the semi-finals, while Costa do Sol will meet Botswana’s Double Action Ladies in the other semi clash.
