Southgate offers Sancho national team lifeline amidst Man Utd uncertainty
FootballJadon Sancho: Jose Mourinho Reportedly Willing to End Winger's Man United Nightmare
- Jadon Sancho looks likely to leave Manchester United after a fallout with Erik Ten Hag
- Latest reports suggest the winger has been banned from Manchester United facilities
- AS Roma has now emerged as one of Sancho’s plausible next destination
Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United career could be all but over after the winger was reportedly banned from accessing the club’s facilities.
As at Tuesday, September 26, there appears to be no end in sight to Sancho’s woes and a solution to his stand-off with manager Erik ten Hag is not forthcoming.
Ten Hag is believed to be unwilling to allowed a disillusioned Sancho to interact and possibly bring negativity to the other members of the team.
According to The Mirror, several Manchester United stars including Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire have urged Sancho compromise and ease his stance, but the winger remains firm.
Sancho sat out the games against Bayern Munich and Burnley, and will also miss out on the EFL Cup clash against Crystal Palace.
Sancho to Roma?
While Sancho’s Manchester United future remains in doubt, a report from Il Romanista has strongly suggested Roma are willing to end the 23-year-old’s Manchester United misery.
The report claims Jose Mourinho is willing to bring Sancho to the Italian capital “at all costs”, but it remains to be seen whether the Gialorissi can actually afford a player of his caliber.
Roma recently signed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal, an indication that the club is willing to spend on players they deem worthy of bringing positive results to the club.
One factor that could encourage Sancho to join Roma is former Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling.
Smalling has been a revelation at Roma, and is arguably one of Jose Mourinho’s most important players.
Former Manchester City star praises Cristiano Ronaldo as 'Genius' in recent interview
FootballThe England international once said he was playing his best football at Roma.
“I'm playing the best football of my career here and my family and I have felt so welcome in this wonderful city from day one. What's more, this club is clearly taking great strides forward in all areas," Smalling said.
“I want to thank our fans too: the unconditional support they have shown me helped make the decision even easier.”
Roma have not made the best start to the new Serie A campaign with only five points from their opening five games. They sit in 13th place on the log.
Fans predict when Pochettino will get sacked
Sports Brief also reported on fans’ interesting prediction of when they believe Mauricio Pochettino would be sacked.
The Argentine landed the lucrative role in the summer to become the permanent replacement for Graham Potter, who was sacked back in February.
However, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss has endured a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge following the Blues' disastrous run of form.
