Sadio Mane inspired Al-Nassr to the next round of the Saudi Arabian King Cup following a comprehensive win against Ohod on Monday evening.
Fresh from defeating Al-Ahli in a seven-goal thriller in the Saudi Pro League, Luis Castro's charges had to dig deep to see off the lower-tier side at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Medina.
Al-Nassr showed their intent from the onset, dominating possession and bombarding the opposition box with incessant attacks. They were eventually rewarded for their persistence after attacker, Abdulrahman Ghareeb was fouled in the box.
Mane duly stepped up to send the goalkeeper the wrong way and hand the visitors the lead shortly after 16 minutes.
The Senegalese star's goal spurred the Knights of Najd on. However, they were undone by profligacy in front of the goal, missing several chances, per Daily Sports.
Notably, they were punished at the stroke of half-time when Konrad Michalak found the equaliser, much to the delight of the home crowd, who envisaged a huge upset.
However, Ohod's hopes of doing the unthinkable were dashed after recess, with Seko Fofana firing from long-range to restore the lead for Al-Nassr two minutes after the hour mark.
In-form Brazilian attacker, Anderson Talisca put the game beyond the opposition's reach after scoring his fourth goal in his last three games across all competitions.
Ayman Yahya and Meshari Al-Nemer added the icing on the cake to complete the 5-1 rout, seeing Al-Nassr through to the round of 16 in the King Cup, per Inside Sport.
What's next for Al-Nassr?
The current Arab Club Champions Cup title-holders are set to have their talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo and midfield maestro, Marcelo Brozovic back in the line-up in their next assignment on September 29.
