Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has tipped Kylian Mbappe to win the Ballon d’Or ahead of Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland when the winner is announced in October.
The France captain has been nominated alongside 30 players for the top award, including Erling Haaland, who won the treble with Manchester City and 2022 World Cup winner Lionel Messi.
According to Football Transfers, Nasser Al-Khelaifi believes Mbappe is currently the best player in the world and cannot see a better winner for the Ballon d’Or this year than his PSG forward.
“I'm proud of what he does and what the whole team does. We have the best player in the world and for me he deserves the Ballon d'Or.”
Mbappe has won the PSG hierarchy over again following a summer fallout which saw the 24-year-old forward get dropped from the first team after refusing to renew his contract with the Parisians.
