  • Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid 3-1 to end the Galacticos' winning run

Diego Simeone is not delighted Jude Bellingham was not sent off during the Madrid derby after the Englishman’s harsh tackle on Atletico Madrid player Angel Correa.

The 20-year-old midfielder was on the losing side for the first time as Real Madrid lost 3-1 to city rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday, September 24, but his tackle was the highlight for the Rojiblancos manager.

According to Sports Bible, Simeone insists the referee was lenient on Bellingham as he says the Real Madrid midfielder should have been red-carded for his reckless tackle.

"Jude Bellingham's challenge looked like a red card when I saw it live. For me, Bellingham should have been sent off."

Bellingham has scored five goals for Real Madrid this season, winning the La Liga Player of the Month for August after his impressive start to his career with Los Blancos.

Bellingham fails to save Real Madrid again

Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham could not bail Real Madrid again as Los Blancos put in a miserable defensive shift as they were battered 3-1 by Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby, GOAL reports.

Los Blancos were vulnerable on the counter-attack, with regular mainstay David Alaba to blame for three near-identical headers, resulting in their first loss of the season in La Liga.

A brace from Alvaro Morata and one goal from Antoine Griezmann ensured Toni Kroos’ goal was only a consolation for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who lost the top spot in La Liga to Barcelona after the defeat to their city rivals.

Atletico Madrid legend praises Jude Bellingham

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Real Madrid's new signing, Jude Bellingham continues to dominate the headlines since completing his record €103 million transfer from German club, Borussia Dortmund.

The 20-year-old midfielder has slotted perfectly into Carlo Ancelotti's side and continued his impressive run of form in front of goal.

Bellingham's last-gasp strike was enough to get Los Blancos off on the right foot in the UEFA Champions League.
