- The draw leaves Napoli in seventh position on the log with 8 points after five matches so far this season
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has now failed to score in four matches after failing to convert from the penalty spot in Napoli’s away game against Bologna.
Osimhen fired wide from the penalty spot and could not give the reigning Serie A champions the desired results.
The penalty miss encapsulates Napoli's current struggle as a moment of opportunity, met with a frustrating setback.
The 24-year-old was substituted in the 85th minute, and the draw leaves Napoli in seventh position on the log with 8 points after five matches so far this season.
Inter Milan maintained their perfect start to the league campaign, registering five wins in five games to top the standings with 15 points.
AC Milan are second with 13 points, while Lecce and Juventus are third and fourth with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Last season's top scorer, Osimhen, has managed to score three goals in all competitions so far this season, but he is unfazed by the goal drought.
He also failed to score in Napoli’s win over SC Braga in the UEFA Champions League but believes he will return to his goal-scoring form very soon.
He told UEFA via New Telegraph:
“It’s strange to end a game without scoring.
“I’m a striker and strikers live for goals but it’s not something that bothers me too much because it’s already happened and I’m prepared for it. It’s not just with goals that you help the team and I’m always ready to help in other ways.”
