Aaron Ramsdale has been dubbed ‘classy’ after his reaction to David Raya’s save in the North London derby was spotted.
Ramsdale appears to have lost his Number 1 spot in the Arsenal squad to David Raya, after the Spaniard made a wonder save against their North London rivals.
Mikel Arteta took up the services of Raya in the summer in a £3m loan deal from Brentford, with the option to buy him permanently at the end of the season.
Raya has impressed in an Arsenal shirt so far, and his performances appears to have come at the expense of Ramsdale, who is now on the bench more often.
In the first half of the derby on Sunday, Raya was forced to make some saves from a potent Tottenham attack, but none of them was more impressive than a save he made to deny Brennan Johnson’ first time effort.
With his arms fully stretched, Raya clawed the goal-bound effort out, and on the bench, Ramsdale was seen raising his hands in applause, despite the bittersweet moment, according to SportBible.
Continued decent performances from Raya will only spell more trouble for Ramsdale, who will likely be relegated to a sporadic player at Arsenal.
But fans appreciated the sight of Ramsdale applauding Raya, as it was a strong indication that the overall results were more important to him.
How the game went
As per Football London, Arsenal took the lead through a Cristian Romero own goal before Spurs restored parity at the stroke of half time through Heung Min Son.

FootballThe Gunners then found the lead once again through Saka from the penalty spot, but Spurs once again levelled matters seconds later through Son once again.
Both teams now have 14 points after the draw, with Tottenham sitting in fourth place because of their better goal difference.
Saka Copies Maddison celebration
Elsewhere, Sports Brief also reported on Saka’s hilarious celebration after giving Arsenal the lead.
Saka decided to use a darts celebration, something which keen fans will have noticed has been used by Maddison before.
This led to fans concluding that the talented winger had a savage side to him, as he copied a celebration of a rival who was literally fighting for three points for his team on the same pitch.
