  • Chiefs swarmed the comments section of a SAFA social media post to complain about the ref

Kaizer Chiefs fans aren’t in the mood for Heritage Day celebrations.

The club’s supporters are more interested in getting justice for their defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8.

As noted by FARPost, Sundowns beat Chiefs 2-1 in the second leg of their semi-final thanks to a Peter Shalulile brace. The Namibian scored after just 10 seconds before grabbing a second later in the first half.

Chiefs grabbed a goal thanks to an Ashley du Preez penalty but felt they should have been given another penalty towards the end of the game.

The Brazilian’s Thapelo Maseko made contact with Mduduzi Mdantsane in the box, but referee Luxolo Badi waived away the calls for a penalty. After the game, Amakhosi coach Molefi Ntseki said that his team deserved a penalty, Soccer Laduma reported.

Chiefs would have won the tie and progressed to the tournament’s final if they were awarded the spot kick and scored it.

Amakhosi fans want SAFA to intervene

With the club’s supporters still upset with Badi and his linesman for not awarding the foul, they took to social media to call for the South African Football Association to take action.

They even hilariously swarmed the comment section under SAFA’s post wishing South Africans a happy Heritage Day.

The association shared a photo of some of its members dressed in traditional gear, but Amakhosi used the post to vent their frustration with the officials.

@VanTee_SA:

“Please focus on dealing with Luxolo Badi for now, we'll come back to other matters later. He's messing with our heritage after your other referee awarded an offside goal in the 1st leg as well, this is too much now.”

@AndyTouchMe:

“Where is Luxolo Badi in this beautiful pic🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.”

@Kingabm23:

“Are going 2 ignore the errors your referee made????”

@MosesMolokwane:

“Please intervene, why is it that always there are dubious calls where @Masandawana is concerned? They're turning the @OfficialPSL into a circus now, at this level it's unacceptable. @FIFAcom please intervene we have a problem of match-fixing in South Africa.”

@KevinVANWYK10:

“Mxm, why don't you wish Sundowns a Happy Heritage Day because they are owned by your boss.”

@JohannesMalule7:

“Your useless referees are officiating nonsense, and you are here posting pictures that are not important.”

Doctor Khumalo weighs in on penalty shout

Former Kaizer Chiefs superstar Doctor Khumalo has faulted referee Luxolo Badi for not awarding AmaKhosi a penalty against Mamelodi Sundowns.

After the first leg clash of their 11th MTN8 semi-final ended 1-1, Masandawana went through following a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture.

It took just ten seconds into the game before Peter Shalulile opened the scoring to give the home team the advantage, Sports Brief reported.
