  • Man City will be without Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates
  • The two English giants are scheduled to meet on Sunday, October 8, in a Premier League clash
  • City are the only side yet to drop points so far this season, winning all six fixtures

Manchester City will be without their midfield trio that helped them hammer Arsenal 4-1 in last season's Premier League run-in ahead of their October Emirates trip.

City are scheduled to face the Gunners on October 8, in what will be the two teams' first Premier League meeting this season.

The match comes at a time when the Citizens are enjoying a fine run of form, with the Pep Guardiola-tutored side the only one yet to drop points so far this term.

The reigning champions have picked up an impressive 18 points from six of their last outings, with their latest fixture ending in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

City are scheduled to take on Arsenal on Sunday, October 8, in a match that is expected to have a bearing on how this season's title race could pan out.

Man City duo to miss Arsenal cracker

However, Guardiola is set to miss the services of the midfield duo of Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne during the Emirates trip.

Sky Sports reports Rodri will be suspended for the match after he picked up a red card on Saturday after an altercation with Morgan Gibbs-White.

On his part, De Bruyne will play no role in the tie as he remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

According to ESPN, the Belgian is expected to be out of action until 2024 with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Ilkay Gundogan, who was part of the City squad that beat Arsenal 4-1 last season, will also not be a part of the travelling team to the Emirates.

Gundogan brought his illustrious career with City to an end in the summer, when he sealed a sensational move to Barcelona.

Pep speaks on Man United, Chelsea form

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Pep Guardiola has given his verdict on Manchester United and Chelsea following their poor starts to the new Premier League season.

Despite Chelsea and Man United struggling for form and results, Guardiola has backed the two teams to get back to winning ways.

The City boss is adamant the Blues and United have what it takes to build on their current poor form and improve.
