- The Ghana international helped Athletic Club to victory over Deportivo Alaves
- Williams also provided an assist in the away win on Friday
Ghanaian forward, Inaki Williams continued with his hot run of form in La Liga this season after netting his third goal of the campaign in Athletic Club's victory over Deportivo Alaves.
The 28-year-old scored early in the game before serving the assist for the second as the Rojiblancos travelled to Estadio Mendizorroza to collect all three points.
Despite his struggles to score for the Black Stars, Williams has now scored in back-to-back games following his return from international duty.
Williams cleverly converted a through pass from Mikel Vesga to give Athletic Bilbao the lead after just 18 minutes.
The Black Stars forward went from scorer to provider in the 76th minute after spotting Oihan Sancet for his side's second, as reported by myjoyonline.com.
The victory sends Athletic Club fourth on the table, just three points off leaders Girona with Real Madrid yet to play their sixth game of the season.
"We're happy. We've come here, where there's a tough atmosphere, played well and got a result," said Athletic Club manager Ernesto Valverde after the game, as quoted by the club's official website. "But now we have to keep this up. Thirteen points out of 18? That tells me we've dropped five on the way."
"It was a derby, we played well. Both teams were strong and little by little we took control of the match."
Athletic Club will next face Getafe in La Liga on September 27, 2023.
